I have a classroom full of students with an abundant amount of energy and a passion for learning. They come to school each day with a smile on and have a true sense of curiosity about the world around them. My students ask questions all day long and are like little sponges soaking up the information they receive. They are all special to me and I want to provide them with the best education I can.
I know some of my students do not have the opportunity to use manipulatives unless they are at school.
My Project
Allowing my students the opportunity for a hands-on learning experience would allow critical thinking skills to form. These hands-on manipulatives will also improve students' understanding of key concepts in mathematics, social studies, and science.
Hands-on projects help engage kids who are tactile or kinesthetic learners, and need movement to learn best.
They also engage students who are auditory learners, who talk about what they're doing, and visual learners, who have the opportunity to see what everyone else is creating. Children learn best when the are engaged in the activity.
Hands-on learning also helps student engagement by making connections between the classroom and the real-world.
