My Project

Nearpod is a hands-on way for students to learn about, interact with, and experience new materials through both teacher-led instruction and student-paced activities. My students were able to use a lesson I created in Nearpod today in a free account, and my students were so excited to work in this new-to-them format.

Nearpod allows me the opportunity to present new materials to my students in the form of slides, videos, and online labs, then integrate things like whole-class quizzes, matching games, and partnered games to engage them in deeper learning.

I registered for a free account to try out this style of learning with my classes and the one lesson I built was so dense that it took up the entirety of the space you're given in a free account! My classes were so engaged and excited at this format of learning that even my students who usually don't volunteer to answer questions or participate much in class were raising their hands in excitement!

Having a paid account means that I can add all my classes into each lesson and record their progress as we move through different standards. It will allow me the option to upload content in lessons that I would not be able to use in the free version. With the free version, I have to use my lesson for one class then delete their data and reset the lesson to use for the next class. This means I can't keep track of each student's progress.
