My students live in small-town rural Maine. These students are growing up in a fishing and agricultural community and are eager to learn about their surroundings and what makes their home so special.
My students are hard-working and dedicated to giving back to their community through workforce training and learning how to sustainably grow food.
My Project
These materials will be used to introduce students to the anatomy of a variety of organisms. Students in this class have the opportunity to learn about fish and aquatic and terrestrial organisms.
I want my students to be exposed to a variety of animals in different ways which is why it will be useful to have paper dissections and preserved specimens.
Preserved specimens can be re-used and currently, we do not have any. Providing students the opportunities to complete in-depth observations of fish, squids, sponges, and other organisms is important to learn about comparative anatomy, possible career paths, and problem-solving skills.
