Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

My Students
The students in my class attend an urban school district with limited financial resources. Most of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of them have experienced crime in their lives and find it difficult to come to school. They have a range of learning abilities and come from diverse backgrounds. The typical student in my class need activities that promote unity and teamwork. My students need ways to communicate with others in fun and engaging ways.
My students deserve an opportunity to interact and thrive in a STEM-driven classroom that supports and promotes 21st century standards with needed resources.
There continues to be a slide in the school's budget, so any chance to provide resources for my students is slim to none. My students need resources to address a variety of deficiencies in order to meet grade level expectations.
My Project
Students need supplies for successful projects. The state standards focus on project based learning, and these items will help my students on the road to being able to accomplish STEM activities, as well as reflection projects. Kids need things to touch, manipulate, and see for themselves applying their learning. These supplies will help them do just that! The colored pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks and writing pencils will be placed in the Ziploc bags for easy student pickup during this precedent time.
It will be priceless to see the look in their eyes to get resources that motivate and engage their creative minds.
The supplies I am asking for will help my students feel like remote learning can be meaningful. The curiosity of each child will really be enhanced with the supplies that I am requesting for my 5th grade class. They need to see to believe! These poster boards, file folders and construction paper will be used in multiple subjects, and my goal is to incorporate project-based learning that will cover all content areas. Having these materials is necessary to implement this type of instruction that puts learning in my students hands. Thank for you support!
