Help me give my students reusable materials for activities in their Math and Reading stations. My students rotate between stations each day to practice skills for mastery. They grow in learning and social skills as they work together.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is made up of 33 students from a small rural area in California. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but many are coming from homes that are at, or below, the poverty level for the nation.
My students deserve the same opportunity to succeed in academics and life as students from more affluent areas; my goal is to provide them with the tools and opportunities to succeed in their future endeavors.
I want the best for them, and I know that they deserve the best from me.
My Project
Everyday my students work in small groups as they learn and practice math and reading skills. Mid-year we move from teacher created activities, in these fluid and flexible groupings, to student selected activities where the student is able to choose how to demonstrate mastery.
Hands-on materials like self-checking folder games and open number lines will give my students the freedom to choose what skills they need to practice and how to show me what they have mastered.
Student driven instruction, student centered learning, and student guided assessments are the heart of my instruction.
When students are given ownership of how they learn, choice in what they use to learn, and the power to tell me when they are ready for the next step in their learning path, they are always successful.
