This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hands-on learners who know how to persevere!

Distance learning has proven to challenge all of us, but my students have stepped up in remarkable ways.

They are creating inventions at home, supporting each other as classmates, and reaching out for support from teachers.

My Project

This project will allow my students to explore in a hands-on way, from home! When school closure happened, I gave each of my 7th graders a magnifying glass so that they can explore the microscopic world around them. They were very disappointed about missing out on using microscopes! These magnifying glasses will allow me to replenish my class set.

This project will also provide some of my students with much-needed headphones!

Many of my students (as many of you are I am sure!) are learning how to navigate shared spaces, and it's very challenging to hold virtual meetings with kids if they don't have a working microphone. The headphones will allow my students to more fully participate in virtual meetings. And finally, fancy pens, because who doesn't want some nice pens to draw and take notes in their field journals?
