This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
In the past, my students have had difficulty understanding geometry because they are missing the tactile connection between formulas, calculations, and theorems and actual real world objects. By creating a project that integrates the math with artifacts that students can see and feel, the concepts will come alive and the students will have a concrete example of geometry in the real-world.
For example, students will use the 3-D pens to combine shapes into prototypes that they design.
They will present their artifacts to explain how geometric skills and concepts were applied.
