Due to COVID-19, I am teaching 20 preschool children in a program called Distance Family Engagement which done virtually. I have 7 with special needs and some outgoing personalities that are learning how to use and interact on Teams meetings. They love to have group Teams meetings where they can see and interact with their friends. At Halloween, we did a virtual parade in which the parents sent pictures of their child in their costumes and we created a video. They love the activities, songs, and games I have been sending and are especially loving the extra time with their family!
My Project
Due to COVID, I am teaching 20 preschoolers virtually, and I am wanting to provide them with games and puzzles they may not have at home to encourage learning and family interaction. These items will incorporate preschool concepts that are part of the Preschool Early Learning Standards. The skills and concepts include social skills, colors, shapes, counting, letter recognition, and fine motor activities.
The program I am currently teaching is the Distance Family Engagement program where I provide lessons, ideas, games, and activities for the family to teach their child with my guidance to make sure the lessons are age-appropriate and individualized for the families.
I am wanting to provide these games and puzzles to enhance and enrich the lessons and activities I send. It will also, help the families with having materials on hand to make this program and school year less stressful during these trying times.
