My students are 3-4-year-olds (mostly 4-year-olds this year) who are in PPCD. PPCD is short for Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities. My students might have delays from Downs Syndrome, autism, CP, and hearing, speech, and visual impairments.
My students are all amazing and special BUT they are not in any way defined by their disability - ONLY their abilities.
We spend lots of time with our typically developing Pre-K friends to learn skills.
My Project
My kids need lots of different ways to learn and most of them involve being active and using their hands! All of their learning involves all of their senses!
The hands-on art I am requesting will help, not only my visually impaired kids, but all the students.
They can feel the Foam Sensory Paint and Sensory Dough and smell the Juicy Fruit Scented Dot Art Painters to experience different smells and textures. I also need Jumbo Paint Dabbers. With these materials, my kids will experience learning through all of their senses.
I am also requesting the Comfy Floor Seats because my students need a variety of different seats to sit on throughout the day to get those wiggles out!!
