In my classroom, I have 17 energetic and eager kindergarten students. These babies are so full of life and tons of questions! Our school is located in a small rural area in Alabama. We have over 300 students and are a Title One school due to the large percentage of students receiving free and reduced lunches. Our school mission statement states that "We empower learners, inspire leaders, and encourage all children to reach their full potential." We are a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, teaching all students that they are leaders.

They absolutely love hands-on activities and love exploring and learning new things. One thing I can say for sure is that these babies are so full of questions and an eagerness to learn!
My Project
Many of the students in our school have limited experiences. With these materials, the students will have hands-on opportunities to learn math and science skills. These materials will be very engaging to the students, and they will be able to physically show their thinking through manipulation of materials.
The Osmo Genius Kits will help my students connect with technology and learn math and science skills as well.
The Educational Insights Number Balance will help my students have a more concrete understanding of numbers and how they relate to each other. The Giant Magnetic Pattern Blocks will help my students to better visualize and manipulate shapes. The other math and science materials in this project such as the Skoolzy Straws and Connectors Building Kits will help my students gain a better foundation for skills they will need the rest of their lives.
Hands-on learning is so important to these children and being able to work together to solve problems will be a valuable lesson not only for these activities but for the rest of their lives.
