This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

One month into the school year I was told that I was switching from 3rd to 5th grade. They are a different bunch, wanting to be more older but at the same time wanting to have fun and be creative. They love my "Teacher" jokes and they are still sweet.

My Project

The fraction kits will allow every student to have their own set of materials. Having their own set will allow them to manipulate the fractions we are working on and see how the fractions look. This will get away from the boring, just write down the fraction activities. The multiplication kits are transparent allowing students to place one fraction on the other showing them how the fractions are multiplied. The fraction kits allow them to see different fractions next to another for them to compare and eventually add, subtract, and multiply. I have always seen improvement when students learn hands-on.
