Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Due to the pandemic, all of my children are learning from home via technology that the school has provided for a majority of them. All instruction is done through Google Classroom activities, videos and 1:1 sessions for each child's need.

I have continued to explore and utilize new platforms and ways to provide materials to my students to provide the best learning experience I can!

Being a class of mixed grades, and multiple abilities and disabilities, I continue to need to grow as an educator to reach all of my students needs!

My Project

Coming from a Title I school, a majority of my students are at home, learning with absolutely no materials, manipulatives or tools. With such a vast range of learning needs, abilities and levels I teach in the classroom through tactile, hands on and visual activities constantly. Remote learning has made learning extremely challenging for my students.

My students learn from hands on activities and manipulatives to retain concepts.

These art supplies will help enhance all of my reading, writing and word work lessons, as I always attach art projects to connect to my lessons. They all lack simple materials for writing like paper, notebooks and even pencils, erasers and grips for their writing needs!

The Math manipulatives will aid them in practicing concepts and skills both hands on and visually. The dry erase boards and magnetic boards are key in helping my students write and spell. All of these materials will provide my children with things they are used to using in the classroom to ensure a more efficient and productive learning experience. With the lack of materials at home, my children would really benefit from these materials!
