Hands-on Engineering

Help me give my students the opportunity to do hands on engineering experiments at home. The kits in the cart can be sent home so students can work with my guidance when online work is required.

My Students

I am the Engineering Teacher at our school. I teach STEM to all our grades which range from 7-12. I focus on hands-on experiences which help solidify the concepts they learn in other math and science classes. These projects help some of the students understand the concepts better than just lecture and paper assignments.

My Project

I teach engineering concepts to my students. As an engineer you use all the math, science, physics, and chemistry knowledge you have accumulated over a lifetime of study to solve problems. I like to reinforce what my students have learned in their core science classes by having them perform experiments or build things that help solidify the concepts they have learned. This has been very challenging in these COVID times because they don't have the tactile resources while doing work in front of a screen. I chose a number of engineering kits that the students can take home and use with my guidance via Zoom to learn hands-on.
