My students need the ability to have active engagement with fidget bands, headphones for digital learning on laptops, answer buzzers for collaborative games, and materials for interactive notebooks in a hands-on learning environment.
Have you filled a bucket today? We have! I have a classroom full of about 20 eager third grade bucket-filling learners looking for an opportunity to share kindness and to do more than dream of success. Being a bucket filler means being the kind voice and helping hand when there are none around. Our students are so diverse and multifaceted that any act of kindness goes a long way. We are a Title I school, which means 100% of our students participate in the free lunch program and come from high-poverty households.
Imagine how helpful and kind students can be when their minds are not focused on the haves and have not.
We want parents and students to associate school with love, learning, and kindness. Imagine changing the negative experiences they may have had to positive experiences we can provide through rich literature, collaborative opportunities, and embracing creativity in a colorful environment.
My Project
These materials will address the whole learning experience from beginning to end. We will first begin with the chair fidget bands that allow students to maintain their concentration while being able to get the wiggles out in a way that does not distract from their learning during the lesson. Next, headphones for every child will guarantee that their time focused on assigned technology-based lessons and enrichment can remain uninterrupted. Then, there’s the glue and binder rings!
These materials will give my students the boost they need to take ownership of their own learning.
Interactive notebooks and creating your own collection of vocabulary and study cards personalizes the learning experience both in and out of the classroom. Students will collect and keep notes, vocabulary, and pictures that they have made a connection with in an easy-to-use reference. Finally, we bring it all home with interactive review games with buzzers to chime in and showcase what they have learned.
