My students need hands-on math materials to help them gain a better understanding of addition and subtraction problems.

A typical day in my classroom looks and sounds like children working together in small groups, learning to read, write, solve math problems but most importantly think!
My building is located in an urban setting within a high poverty area, and it consists of Pre-K through second grade classrooms as well.
as cross categorical classrooms. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students thrive off of structure, routines, and organization. My students may not always come to school prepared for the day but one thing they all do come with is a love of learning.
"You'll never be bored when you try something new. There's really no limit to what you can do!" - Dr. Seuss
My students are in need of hands-on materials to help keep them actively engaged in their learning. That is why I am requesting Fishing for Math Facts Addition and Subtraction, Stack & Build Addition and Subtraction Flip Books and Busy Bees Hands-On Subtraction Center.
Addition and Subtraction can be hard concepts to grasp, but made easier when given the right materials.
My students would be able to utilize the Fishing for Math Facts activity and the Busy Bees Subtraction Center during center time to give them independent practice with addition and subtraction. I would use the Stack & Build Addition and Subtraction Flip Books during small groups so that I can help guide them through their learning.
Addition and Subtraction is a skill that my students will need to use all throughout their schooling and their everyday lives. They will need it in order to buy things from the store, plan a party and many other daily events.
I am certain that my friends will be actively engaged in their learning and will quickly learn their addition and subtraction facts through daily use of the Fishing for Math Facts Addition and Subtraction, Stack & Build Addition and Subtraction and the Busy Bees Hands-On Subtraction Center.
