My students need more hands-on activities, like math boards, a CVC work work center, and word building puzzles, that they can do on their own during center time.
My kindergarten students come to school excited and ready to learn. It is the students' first year of learning and I want them to be successful in all that they do in school.
We are not a Title I School, so we do not receive extra funds to purchase the things we need to help us become better learners.
We are located in Nebraska in the middle of the country and service many types of families including military families and English Language Learners.
We would like more hands-on things to help us enhance our learning and be successful!
My Project
The reading and math activities will make a difference in my students' learning by giving them different hands-on materials that will support their learning. The reading activities focus on syllables, listening to sounds, building simple words and making sentences. The math activities focus on number order, comparing numbers, adding and subtracting. The students will be able to use the activities throughout the day during learning centers and individually.
These activities will keep the students engaged and excited about their learning.
The students will have fun using the activities, and at the same time will not even realize that they are learning. These activities will help the students to explore their ability while becoming better readers and gaining more number sense.
These activities will also improve their school lives because they will feel successful in learning while interacting and having fun with each other.
