My Students

With these shapes students can really see and feel the difference between a pyramid and a prism. The gear clocks have hands that move like those of a real clock, so kids can really see that the difference between how the hour and minute hands move.

We are a school in Washington State in a neighborhood with families from all over the world.

My students are curious first graders who learn best when they can really touch and do things! They love to investigate new ideas by trying things out themselves, not just watching the teacher.

My Project

These items are great resources for young learners that will enhance our lessons on shapes and time. The math curriculum kits we have come with no geometric shape to go along with our lessons. We do have flat plastic clocks for the students to use, but students have to move the minute and hour hands themselves and therefore don't really make a connection between the relationship of the two. The clocks requested have hands that move in tandem, showing the connection between the hour and minute hands. Kids will work alone and with partners with these items, which are sturdy and will last for years, serving many students to come.

Please help these first graders have an engaging, hands-on math experience!

These active learners will benefit from being able to touch and manipulate materials themselves to further their understanding of these concepts.
