My students are unique and special! We have 24 diverse five and six year old students that come from around the globe to learn in my classroom! My school serves mostly military families who come to study for 18-36 months before transferring to a new location.
We have had students from South Korea, Greece, Mongolia, Argentina, Mexico, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine, Russia, and all over the United States come through my classroom doors!
We have learned to love and appreciate our differences in what makes us unique!
We love to learn and grow and so many times we learn and grow through hands-on activities and experiments where we can safely try new things and learn to love and grow from mistakes.
My Project
The supplies we are requesting such as paper, vinyl sheets, and blades will help us to create manipulatives, games pieces, letter and number shapes, and thousands of other items that students can use at home to help offline activities become closer to how in-class activities and centers would be, allowing students to have their own sets of manipulatives and phonics and math activities while at home.
We will make t-shirts for the kids to continue a sense of school and class spirit, even through Zoom class, and design distance learning activity packets and games using these materials.
I will add to our packets cut-outs of the letter and sight word of the week. The materials I'm requesting will allow me to make stickers of sight words and letters! We will make puppets out of cardstock to retell stories, make fun certificates to recognize achievements, and teach shapes by sending shapes home!
