Help me give my students a way to see their growth as an artist with a 50 sheet spiral bound sketchbook and a set of 12 colored pencils!

My Students

My students are from different socio-economic homes; they vary in ability, experience, and access to basic supplies necessary for any young artist. My goal with this project is to make sure that all of these sweet kids have an equitable experience.

Our school is a brand new school, born from the new constraints imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our students have chosen to attend virtually due to limited transportation and financial constraints.

My Project

I would like to supply my 8th grade students with a sketchbook to work in and keep all of their work in one place. The sketchbook becomes a living document where students can see how much they have grown with their artwork. At the end of term, a student can go back through their sketchbook and reflect on how much they learned and grew.

Equitable access for all students is the most important goal.

Equitable Access = Growth. A set of 12 colored pencils in combination with the sketchbook provides all students a greater opportunity for growth.

Having a sketchbook makes you feel like a “real” artist. The confidence boost will help students feel more secure in trying new and challenging assignments.
