I have fallen in love with my students' perseverance and bright spirits! Despite the daily challenges my students face, they come to school with smiles on their faces ready to tackle whatever is thrown at them. My students work very hard and they are super excited to learn.
I teach at a Title One funded school where one hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many students in my school receive food kits for the weekends and are placed in the Angel Tree program each year at Christmas. Despite living in a perpetual cycle of poverty, their spirits remain unbreakable.
It's no secret that children from difficult backgrounds are underdogs from the very beginning. That is why they need a champion, someone who believes in them enough to give them a chance at success. This project will open the door to uncharted territory for my students and allow them to reach a level of success they never knew existed.
My Project
Hands down, hands-on learning is the best way to solidify foundational skills in students!
These math and literacy games and manipulatives will help students have fun while learning the foundational skills that they will build on for years to come!
This project will help us focus on the basics, like word work, grammar skills, basic math concepts, and telling time. As we go beyond worksheets and lectures with these materials, students will discover math and literacy in ways that will instill a love of learning within each of them. These materials will help reach all students, no matter what learning level they are on!
