Help me give my students a more hands on experience in Covid-19. Students are so used to just using technology, that having models and being able to create displays will increase learning in the classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I love the diversity and perspective my students bring to the classroom. Chemistry has become a neutral ground and a safe space for many of my students. They’re always ready to take on new experiences and give me honest feedback. With the daily limitations of inner city living and inconveniences of Covid, they still show up everyday ready for an experience. I couldn’t ask for a better group of students in my first two terms.
My Project
With your donation Dunbar Chemistry will be able to have a better and improved in-class/hands-on experience. Coming back from Covid I noticed materials and literature was out dated and did not meet the standards or assessments for the 2021/2022 school year. I have been able to find a plethora of online gizmos, simulations and websites to meet STEM needs, however with your support and better resources, on the daily bases, I know I can grow my students all around. Hands on experiences are very important to student learning along with, SEL, reading and writing and modeling assignments.
