I am a fifth grade teacher at PS 165 in Queens. Many of the children in my class come from immigrant families who work very hard and don't have time to give their children hands on experiences. The children love to learn by doing and finding results for themselves. We do a lot of science in our classroom. The children investigate all kinds of real hands-on science. At the moment I only have 5 hand lenses. The children love to investigate small objects but it is difficult with the limited resources we have. If we had a class set of hand lenses the children could go out and individually discover the small world around them. Your support of this proposal would enhance the science experience for 30 children this year and many more children for years to come. Thank you for your time and interest.
