This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students respond to music and rhythm. They come alive when there is movement and the sounds of movement. Incorporating these elements throughout the school day motivates them to be present and participate in learning. I will use the drums at strategic times during the week to motivate students to attend to learning tasks with the prospect of spending time using the drums. Not only does drumming become an incentive, but it is also becomes a learning experience itself. Other areas of the curriculum are also supported in the process.
