Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an amazing group of students that come from all walks of life. They are energetic, funny and ready to learn! I teach 26 superstars in a Title I school in New York City.
My students come from countries like Colombia, Mexico, Bangladesh, and Guyana.
I teach students with disabilities, students that have health impairments, and a large population of English language learners. This year is unlike any other because my boys outnumber the girls. With all of their differences, one thing stands true: my students are eager to learn.
My Project
I am requesting Sun chips, cookies and candies for a Halloween celebration. So far, we are off to a grand school year! My class is amazing, they’re responsible, eager and hard working. Not to mention they’re well behaved. I want to treat my students to a Halloween party after our Character Parade at the end of the month. I know that we are always pushing academics, curriculum and standards based learning; but I want to reward the students in my class. The incentive is a sweet gesture in order to reinforce positive behavior. When students know their worth and feel the love, they respond to that with desirable behavior. I want to show my students that hard work and determination will pave the way to better things. This Halloween celebration is just a token of the greatness I know they are. With many students that are unable to go out for Halloween with their families I don’t want to have a student feel left out. If I help the parents while the students are in school, all of my students will be able to celebrate. Thank you for your support!
