My students need the count and slide learning apples, the pose and play family set and the Melissa and Doug grill and serve bbq set to enhance the learning and play experiences.
I teach a half-day Pre-K program with 22 kids in the morning and 22 new kids in the afternoon. I have a multitude of skills to teach in a short amount of time. This means I have to make all moments of our day not only engaging, but educational.
My students learn best when they are introduced to skills with hands-on materials and then are given the opportunity to work with the skill in a multitude of different ways.
We have many different learning styles in our classroom and I like to provide children with the opportunities to not only work in areas that they feel the most comfortable, but also to step outside of their comfort zone on occasion and try new things.
My Project
My Pre-K students enjoys multiple opportunities to learn using hands on learning experiences. They will use the Slide & Count Learning Apples to engage in independent counting that build on skills that they have already learned in other areas of our classroom. The Picture Magnets can be used in a variety of ways from sorting, to beginning sound, all the way to early writing. The Lakeshore Pose & Play Family Set and Melissa & Doug Grill and Serve BBQ set will both be used in my free choice play centers. Children gain social skills along with problem solving skills while working in play based centers.
I work hard to make the activities in our classroom independent as well as self checking so the students feel confident in the knowledge they gain throughout their learning experiences.
I love to provide my students with as many opportunities as possible to build their own learning experiences through play based activites that involve active language moments.
