This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am the math instructional coach in a very rural school that consist of 162 students in grades PreK - 5th grade, and our poverty index falls well over 95% of our students living in low income families.

With the many struggles my students face daily, school is their escape because students learn when they are having fun!

The students I serve love using technology across the curriculum. It allows them to be creative and innovative in ways we could only imagine. This is why I want to provide the tools my students would need to assist them in turning their ideas into reality.

My Project

The 21st Century has been an explosion of technological advancement and my school will not be left out of this revolution. Having an iPad and echo within my school (science, math, and research laboratory), will allow my students to have the necessary tools to research and create. My students will able to use the Echo (Alexa) to ask it a variety of questions as they research topics, create projects, write in all subjects, and work in collaborative groups (playing games, setting timers, etc.) The iPad and picture printer will be used to take pictures and create projects to be presented to the entire class. Students will be able to present their projects in creative ways (collages, timelines, etc.)

By having an iPad and an Echo, my students will be able to emerge themselves into learning.

It will give the students the creative edge they need to be confident in their learning.
