Help me give my students books to deepen their understanding and practice of the Habits of Mind through literature.

My Project

The books we are requesting will provide WES lifelong learners (teachers and students) the opportunity to deepen our understanding of the Habits of Mind. Our school's culture is based on Dr. Art Costa and Dr. Bena Kalick's 16 Habits of Mind. These include essential skills such as Thinking Interdependently, Listening with Empathy, Persisting, Managing Impulsivity and Taking Responsible Risks. These dispositions will serve students at home, school and in their communities.

We would love to create a lending library specifically dedicated to encourage the practice of the Habits of Mind through children's literature.

The variety of meaningful books will enrich our classrooms and be a segue to deeper conversations and lessons about the Habits of Mind.
