My students need fishing rods, vests, fishing lines, spincast combos, fishing lures and bait to begin our fishing adventure. All of these materials will go to the students and their individual use.
Our students are alternative learners who attend a small Title 1 high school near White Lake, Michigan. We are looking to start an after-school Fishing Club for our students to participate in. We need funds to provide licenses, gear and running costs for such a program. We are hoping such a program would bring our students together and create a sense of community. There are not a lot of after-school programs available at our school. We would like to change that and it begins with our Fishing Club.
My Project
This project will provide an opportunity for our students to associate with one another and create a sense of community amongst them. The Fishing Club will take two students out each week to fish and one Saturday per month.
We will teach students the basics of bass, pike and gill fishing, using a variety of tackle and tactics.
The costs associated with the club will most likely be the costliest in starting it up after that running costs will not be so significant and could be maintained easily. The fishing rods, vests, fishing lines, spincast combos, fishing lures and bait will allow students to actively participate in our Fishing Club for some time.
