Guitars Needed for Refugee Students

My students need 5 acoustic guitars.

We have 300 refugee families from throughout the world. I teach music to 9-12 graders in an inner city school that is located in the city with the 13th highest child poverty rate in the nation.

My students came from Thai and Nepali refugee camps with nothing but the clothes on their back. We have a $25 annual budget for music. These young people keep it together by playing the music they learned in the camps with American service volunteers.

I need 5 acoustic guitars so that these students express themselves without knowing the English language or culture.

With your help, these young refugees, who have survived insurmountable degradation and viewed horrific violence will have some hope through their music.
