Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students cover the whole spectrum. They are of different ages, ethnicities, religions, talent, countries, languages, wealth, and so many other demographics. Despite their differences, they do have at least one thing in common. They recognize that music and the arts have changed their lives in a positive way and they continue to grow and learn.
Our school is at the highest poverty level in the country.
Nearly all of the students qualify for food assistance. These students are not afraid to work for what they need in life and they inspire me every day.
My Project
My students live and breathe technology. It is necessary to stay relevant in our daily lives as well as in the educational world.
The Finale Music Notation Software, controller, and stereo receiver will allow my students to arrange and compose their own music as a class.
Our number one priority with this project is to have access to software that is interactive, instructional, and fosters student creativity through composition. Students will be able to compose original music, arrange music for guitar, and receive feedback from their peers.
This project will change the way my students learn now and for years to come.
