Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a group of children that are talented in music. Currently this group is able to read standard music notation and have the ability to listen to music and sing it in pitch. Students are able to sing in different voices and are able to harmonize with ease.
Music education in this school enables children to explore all areas of creativity as they learn to create their own beats and melodies.
Our program inspires students to learn more about music and are motivated to keep on learning. Furthermore, as our modern society demands creative entrepreneurs, this great endeavor will facilitate future aspiring professionals.
Guitar education education is a great tool for students to attain the goals mentioned above; it provides students with a unique vision. Because guitar is the most popular instrument in the world, students are taught music relevant to them. Through this instrument, students obtain knowledge of music ranging from classical to modern music. As students learn classical, jazz and blues and modern rock music on the guitar, they are able to understand history from a different perspective. Thus, music teaches literacy as well.
My Project
We have only a certain number of guitars and many students have to purchase their own instrument. Hence, many students are overlooked because of the lack of instruments. In order to continue with our goals and to allow our talented students to reach their potential, our school is in need of guitars. Our goal is to have a full class set of guitars so that our school may teach a full class. As we acquire the guitars needed, we will perform more for our community enlightening and inspiring people from our community and making guitar education grow in this area.
