My Students

My students are a talented group of young musicians who are eager to learn music. They come from a low-income rural community in NC that focuses on farming and blue-collar jobs. Our school is a very close community and work hard to be successful.

My students strive to be excellent musicians.

Unfortunately, due to budget, we do not always have the supplies to challenge ourselves. With the help of you, I believe we will be able to improve and challenge ourselves to become better musicians.

My Project

The students need foot stools to help play our guitars properly. Currently, our class does not have music stands. This makes it difficult to read the music because the students are having to stare down at the floor to see the music.

The students will develop a skill that they are proud to show off.

Unless they play sports, many of these kids do not have the opportunity to present their skills in a public setting. The guitar program gives those kids an opportunity to be visible to the public and praised for their hard work. My students are gifted musicians and they always strive to be the best musician they can be.
