Our journey together is a short one... there is so much to do - in order to build Little Hearts and Minds! Each year I’m blessed with a mixture of Little Ones brought together for nine short months. The families in our community love and care for their children and with their support, we work together to begin growing Hearts and Minds!
The community as a whole, including some of the Little Ones in our Kindergarten Family were impacted by Hurricane Harvey this year.
Hurricane Harvey has changed this community and its families in many ways. With the negative changes brought on by this, families and their children will count on our Kindergarten Family for more love and encouragement!
I wish you could see the changes and growth made by this Kindergarten Family! We read, write, count, explore, investigate, listen, learn, and try to scatter kindness along the way!
My Project
What does the current research say about Literacy? I can’t wait to learn all about how these Little Minds and Hearts learn best!
I am a Lifelong Learner - guiding Young Readers & Writers at the beginning of their journey!
Fountas and Pinnell - The Literacy Continuum provides current research. This professional book will guide me as I read about what a Kindergarten Little One needs. The Literacy Continuum breaks down what I need at the Kindergarten Level in reading and writing. Jan Richardson - The Next Step Forward in Guiding Reading will guide me as I lead my mixture of readers and writers forward in their learning. Latisha Hayes - Developing Word Recognition will help me support their growth in mastering reading and writing words.
I have hands-on literacy materials to prepare and laminate for my 5-Year-Olds - so they can train their brains!
I am a learner! I can’t wait to grow professionally, in order to help my Kindergarten Thinkers bloom!
