This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I high-impact school. About 95% of our students receive free lunch. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. I want to provide them with the resources and materials needed to close that achievement gap that they may have!
My Project
My students are struggling readers. They are in need of some extra resources in our classroom. My students need guided reading materials like 60 Scholastic Little Leveled Readers Learn to Read Preschool Kindergarten First Grade Children's Book Lot, Guided Reading Levels A through D to further their learning ability. I think having these leveled guided reading sets in our classroom will benefit the students in many ways. I think they will become more fluent readers.
I want these books to guide them into becoming great readers.
I want them to be able to become not only better readers, but better independent readers. I want them to become confident in themselves, with these books they can accomplish that. They are great book sets and I want them to come to enjoy reading.
