Help me give my students an opportunity to reach their reading potential. Having access to the Lakeshore Learning Guided Reading books will support our readers by providing them books in their just right reading level.
My second grade students are excited to learn and especially love Reader's Workshop time.
They enjoy reading independently and with their reading partners. They are learning that the more they read at their "just right reading level" their reading skills improve. It is fun to see them be able to read more books in our library.
My students also enjoy small group reading time, when I intentionally use the Guided Reading books to enhance and support their growth as readers.
My Project
I currently am reading with my students daily. Each day I meet with at least one group to help strengthen and assess their reading skills.
Adding these Guided Reading books to our guided reading selection, gives my students more options and opportunities to practice the skills needed to improve and enhance their reading levels.
These books also allow me to assess students so I can see what further support they need.
Finally, these books become part of the students' book bags so they can continue to practice the reading skills they are learning when they independently read during Reader's Workshop.
