Students in kindergarten are at a great age to learn about their world through play and exploring. My students are eager to learn and grow and need supplies that will help bring out their creativity.
My students come from very diverse family and financial backgrounds.
Some live with both parents. Some with live with only one while others primarily live with grandparents. There have been some that have brought in school supplies and others have not had the resources to do so.
My Project
With various colors of paint, my students will be able to use their creativity and create masterpieces that they can be proud of. In kindergarten, we do a lot of artwork that always ties together with our monthly theme or project we may be working on. For example, September is apple month so we use a lot of red paint to paint apples! Painting will help my students learn another way to be creative! We also encourage learning through play. During our free time, my students need various manipulative's to help them learn and be creative. This is especially true for my students who don't speak much English at home. This is why I am asking for building blocks and the transportation car set.
Donations of paint supplies and classroom toys, such as Lego building blocks and cars, will help my students use their creativity to be problem solvers and artists.
These supplies would really help tie and connect their learning all together. Using art and toys is a great way to teach and provide background knowledge to my students so that they can become better learners all while exploring their real life world around them!
