I have 28 of the most amazing 2nd graders, who bring so much joy, creativity, curiosity, and fun to my classroom. Every day is new and different, and I look forward to the challenge and fun of teaching and learning.
On a daily basis each and every one of my students remind me just how unique and special they truly are, as well as their needs as learners.
Some of these needs include: academic, behavioral, social emotional, or health concerns. In order to meet the needs of all of my students, and to give them the best 2nd grade learning experience that I can, I have to offer them a variety of modifications throughout their school day.
My role as their teacher doesn't just lie within the curriculum in which I teach. My role includes helping them feel safe, successful, loved, comfortable, confident, and all around grounded within their school setting...making sure that I do everything that I can to meet their unique and special needs.
My Project
I want all furniture/areas in my room to match the differentiated learning environment that I strive to provide for my learners. I want my learners to be able to focus on their reading instruction, choosing to sit, kneel or stand.
By getting a stable, standing height table, I will be able to provide a learning space that will suit ALL learners!
I will also be able to be at the same level as my learners when I teach, and not have to be stooped over them.
I cannot wait to make my small group reading and writing space an ideal zone to learn in!
