My Students
The 5th grade scholars I meet and greet as well as educate daily are real blessings. These scholars are reminded daily that they matter. The scholars that enter 5th grade, work so hard in conditions that are sometimes not pleasing. These scholars will enter this school year with the school district in a deficit. That makes the environment in which they learn, challenged greatly. Some of these scholars come from homes that are one parent homes. The town they live in is a low socioeconomic town, which places these scholars at a great disadvantage. Its not an easy task to see such nice kids struggle because they don't have what they need to academically soar. All scholars can learn, yet they need the materials to help them do so. No greater joy, is there than to see your scholars fly as high as they can academically. That is what the scholars want and that is my wish and goal for them. With those challenges my co workers and I continue educate and put a smile on faces that have minds full of life’s problem at the tender age of 10.
My Project
The items l am requesting will service the scholars in my class in a number of ways. The main purpose is to provide seating for the guided reading station. Guided reading station, is a station where 4 -5 (possible more) scholars are seated at a table reading, decoding and more. Scholars are grouped by levels and meet periodically through the week to get that extra support to build a stronger literacy comprehension. The items will service the conference station where the teacher and scholar will conference about work that may need a one to one guidance through the week or weeks.
