Guided Reading SPED
Help me give my students a class set of leveled readers. We will be able to use them in small group instruction and one-on-one with me.
I will be a first year teacher in the fall. I am ending the year as a long-term substitute in the position for Resource and Inclusion.
These are fun, energetic, students who are struggling in Reading, Writing, and/or Math.
I teach K-5 kids and they come for small group and one-on-one teaching.
This year, I want to engage my students with the use of engaging centers and focus on developing their reading skills. I would love to have a fun reading area for individual and partner reading. My students can be successful with dedication and tools. I was fortunate to start as a long-term substitute in the position and now as their teacher in the fall, I am able to plan everything according to their strengths and weaknesses. I have 28 students who come for remedial teaching in math, reading, and writing.
Without a solid grasp of reading, learning in all other areas suffer. My students struggle with reading. Having a class set for small group instruction would prove to be extremely beneficial in their learning to read.
READING is the basis of ALL learning!
These class sets would allow me to meet a child at his/her own reading level and to help them improve their comprehension and fluency. My students are in the Resource Classroom and are there because they struggle with reading. Having a class set of leveled readers, would allow me to teach them reading and complete reading drills with them as well..
