My class of 21 kindergarten students is ready and willing to learn when they come to school each day. These young students who come in the year unable to identify their own names, are reading and writing, as well as adding and subtracting by years end. When they walk into the classroom, their learning journey begins.
Kindergarten is the place where foundational skills are learned and the creation of a lifelong learner takes place.
Each day in our classroom is a new discovery.
My Project
My students are often stuck in one place to learning and grow during reading instruction. By providing them with a cart, where our guided reading can move places like in the hall, outside, and anywhere it takes us, I can engage students and make their learning fun!
We are requesting a mobile guided reading cart and markers to make labels for the cart to make reading exciting in our classroom!
By making reading "mobile" I can reach those students who dose off when learning. Providing better seating and temperature control will meet students needs, therefore make them more engaged in becoming a better reader!
