My Students

I teach a inquisitive group of 2nd graders at a charter school. They work together and make school a great place to learn.

The love to work in small groups for reading and discuss what they have learned.

They love science experiments, writing and art.

My Project

My goal is to meet with my students in small groups to read and discuss books. The past few years have been challenging for them because they were not able to meet in groups and have discussions.

I would like to help them learn to love reading and increase their comprehension skills.

They need a variety of books to explore different reading strategies and apply what they have learned in discussions by summarizing, learning new vocabulary and recognizing new story elements.

They would greatly benefit from having new books to read.
