My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Some might have more, and some might have less. However, this does not change their love for learning. They are all eager to learn.
There should not be limitations to students' learning.
Students have different learning styles. Our school serves all students, and we do our best to meet the needs of students. We promote joyful learners. It is very important to provide access to our students with different learning styles and needs, especially at the early stage of learning.
My Project
This selection of guided reading books has books from reading level A to F. Students will be working in a small guided reading group based on their needs in reading. During Guided Reading, students will be introduced to the books they will read and taught specific thinking and reading strategies. All reading and thinking strategies are carefully planned through data analysis and observations.
As students are learning to read, working in a small group and engaging in meaningful conversations will promote students' learning.
In addition to learning strategies, students will be sharing out their understanding, their personal experience, questions, and other connections. This will allow students to connect with the text. They will be learning about the text as a whole and it is more meaningful than just doing word study.
