Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a great group of diverse learners who deserve access to a differentiated education. We are a Title I school where 100% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. This doesn't stop them from coming to school with a great attitude, hungry to learn!
In my classroom, we participate in Daily 5 where the focus is on differentiated learning and student choice.
My aim is to get students excited to learn by providing learning activities that are on level and enabling students to have a voice in their education.
My Project
These guided reading books will help me create a classroom library that allows my students to have meaningful experiences with authentic texts. These materials will be used every day by my first graders who will get to choose meaningful books they want to read.
My students are ferocious readers and these books will give them a chance to work on their reading skills by allowing them to read books that are at a just right level.
By providing them with high quality books like these, I know my students will be excited to read independently or with a buddy as they learn to read and think deeply about their reading!
