This will be my second year teaching First Grade. I taught Fourth Grade for twenty-one years. My school is in a rural area. We are a Title I school. Most of the resources I have collected throughout the years will not work with small children. I need sets of Guided Reading Books for my 1st Grade classroom. I am in need of books from Level C to Level H. I also need a cart and bins to store the leveled readers. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of my children. You are giving them the tools to learn how to read.
My Project
Our school district will be using Guided Reading this fall as part of our curriculum. I moved from 4th Grade to 1st Grade last year. I had to leave behind most of my resources because they will not work with little ones. I will have a wide range of learners from mostly non-readers to some on 1st Grade Level. I prefer to use real books with my students. I like giving them an authentic overall experience as they learn to read in my classroom. I need the cart & storage boxes so each level can be organized for years to come.
