My students need guided reading books in order to continue developing reading skills. The camera will allow me to do shared readings so all my students can look at the book together.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This school year, I have been teaching in a charter school in Central Harlem. This school specializes in inquiry-based learning in hopes to encourage students to be internationally-minded citizens of the world. My students possess attributes that they demonstrate daily, such as being caring, open-minded, courageous and the list goes on and on.
My belief is that every student can and should have access to learning regardless of any factors that they may come across in their lives.
They should have a classroom environment to call their own that is inviting, safe and full of excitement. They should also have access to the materials needed for them to learn, understand and later practice on their own. My goal throughout the school year is to ensure my students enjoy coming to school everyday and have access to all they need to build their learning in the classroom.
My Project
These materials will make a differences in my student's learning by providing them with more resources to help them continue their literacy learning. This will improve their school lives because these guided reading books will help them develop more reading skills in order to move up levels and start preparing for the next grade. The camera will help me project the book on the wall so all my students can see the skills that I am trying to teach. This way is easier and students are not climbing to see what I am trying to show on a regular book.
