GRS Aquaponics Filter Needed!

My students need the filter to complete our first aquaponics installation! They researched different filters, and this one is well built, meant to last for many years, and large enough to filter our 130 gallon tank.

My Students

My students love learning and often show leadership qualities both in and outside of the classroom. They excel at working in groups and strive to do their best. My students jump at every available educational opportunity.

They really love animals and the environment and want to create a working aquaponics system.

They gleefully researched aquaponics each day, dutifully reading articles and books to learn to the best of their ability. My entire class is excited to grow food & raise fish for the rest of their school!

My Project

Great River school is a charter Montessori school in St Paul. We are currently running an urban farm, and our current project is to set up an up and running aquaponics system. For this system we are asking three sensors. This filter is essential to our aquaponics system. It will allow us to assure clean water for our fish & system.

Students will learn how to run and monitor this aquaponics system successfully.

They will be testing the pH, the ammonia levels, and the nitrate levels daily. Our system serves as a window into ecology and biology. The aquaponics system acts as model of an ecosystem, balancing the need of plants and animals. In the end, we'll have market-ready products (bait fish and basil) which will serve as our introduction to economics.
