I teach in a grade two full inclusion co-taught classroom of 40 students. Our students are part of a small, rural community. Second graders are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! In our classroom, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
They are amazing young learners full of enthusiasm and curiosity.
Like all children, they love to learn through games, hands-on activities and group tasks.
Research on the growth mindset shows that students who believe they can grow their basic abilities have greater motivation and higher achievement than do students who believe their abilities are fixed, and that teachers can influence students’ mindsets. Our students will learn the benefits of growth mindset this year. They will learn about neuroplasticity and that everyone has the potential to develop, grow and achieve in any given area.
Our students will learn how to love a challenge!
The reasoning games, Zoologic Logic Puzzle Game , Kandoodle, Dice Dots, Rush Hour, Jr., Hoopers Logic Game and Chocolate Fix logic game will help students develop strategies to overcome challenging tasks and practice perseverance and resiliency. Thank you so much!
