Our classroom is a group of hard-working, excited learners! We love to challenge ourselves and set goals that will help us to achieve all year long!
Our classroom is filled with diverse learners that are kind, safe, and responsible!
We are a group of readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, musicians, artists, and THINKERS! Our goal is for students to love coming to school and to love the learning process (even the struggle)! By using engaging learning experiences and teaching students to think outside of the box, we are creating lifelong learners!
My Project
Growth mindset and perseverance are a crucial component for students! These two types of thinking help all students continue on, even when the work gets tough!
Persistence is the key to helping ourselves grow!
Without this skill, students simply give up or rush to an adult without even trying on their own. Grit and growth mindset help us to push through and help to solve our own problems.
Students (and teachers) will use these resources to help encourage problem solving skills, growth mindset, and grit skills that are so vital to 21st century learning. My students will love getting their hands on these awesome texts!
I will use these texts to enhance my own knowledge of incorporating and using the ideas of growth mindset and grit. The student texts will be great ways to enhance their knowledge of these topics in fun, interactive ways! Reading these aloud and in small groups will be very beneficial to all students! Each week, our class participates in lessons pertaining to anti-bullying and self-improvement. These texts will help to foster discussion and activities around these two topics. Titles like "The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes" and "Thanks For the Feedback (I Think)" are great for students to see that no one is perfect! Everyone has their own gifts to share with the world!
