Coming from a low-income neighborhood, our scholars have unique challenges that they push through each day as they make their way from primary school to college. Although they come from caring homes, many families struggle to meet basic needs. This only makes the students work harder and become more determined to succeed at whatever life throws their way. They are driven and determined. My school has approximately five hundred and thirty-five students. They are very energetic and love to have fun while learning! They are on the cusp of their primary school career, about to embark on unique paths that will shape their lives and build the foundations for their futures.
Your help and support would enable these students to change their mindset from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in our students' learning by giving them great literature to read and examples of ways to change their mindset.
These hardback story books offer students examples of what a growth mindset looks like in practice.
We are all born with a growth mindset, but obstacles in our childhood and life in general can alter that mindset to fixed. A fixed mindset is when we think we cannot do something, it is just too hard for us. By giving the students opportunities to change that attitude into an 'I Can' attitude, we are giving them the opportunity for limitless potential in life. Can you imagine a classroom where no matter the trial we face, we have the tools in our mental backpack to overcome them successfully? I can't wait to share great stories such as Beautiful Oops and The Dot!
