This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am showing my students how to cook! And important part of it is to use knives without getting cut. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are for creating a better learning environment for them. My class is a culinary art class which prepares them with life skills that will be with them for the rest of their lives. We just need your help in getting everything for that life changing learning experience. My goal is to prepare them to become Servsafe Certified at the end of the year and the best way to create that is through hands-on work in the kitchen. They love to be out of the books and straight into action!

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency techniques to work on the restaurant industry as well as to avoid cuts by being exposed to the use of culinary knives in a supervised learning space.

By having the right utensils in our classroom, my students will begin to see themselves as true line cooks and chefs capable of being employees and managers in the culinary industry, which is a highly employed industry now a days. We will use these knive sets to aide us in the process of becoming life-long kitchen experts. As the teacher, I have done extensive research in how to teach all these techniques and manage to get them involved in the process of learning. Yet, I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
